Dear Mr. Holden,
First, congratulations on your promotion to Editor of The Press. That is an awesome achievement. Good luck.
Second, KBRM would like to compliment your newspaper on the article Are US Jews too powerful? Not even close that appeared on Nov. 10. It is not often that one sees a strongly pro-Israel article in New Zealand newspapers, let alone given as much prominence as this. The accompanying photo of a six-year-old Palestionian boy holding a hand grenade, titled Hatred starts early (see link below for full afticle), is particularly chilling and revealing.
KBRM is dedicated to showing both sides of the story, and Israel's side, as I said, is not often presented. I hope that as the new editor you will continue the effort to inform your readers about what Israel is up against in its fight to survive. When reporting Israel's actions against terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon, I hope you will also report the attacks being made every day on Israel, many of which are foiled before they occur. I hope you will publish stories about weapons smuggled into Gaza from Egypt and being stockpiled by Hizbollah in Lebanon.
Finally, I hope that KBRM can be of help to you in this, as we send occasional email about news items of exceptional interest.
Sincerely,
Rodney Brooks, Chairman KBRM

Dear editor:
Good on you for the article Are US Jews too powerful? Not even close (10/11/07, p. B4). It is not often that NZ papers publish a prominent article showing so clearly Israel's side of the conflict. The photo of a six-year-old ! Palestinian child holding a hand grenade titled Hatred starts early is particularly chilling and revealing.
Israel, which has been under constant attack since 1948, is the only country today that is vilified for defending itself. Unlike other countries which, when under attack, try to destroy their enemies, Israel is held to proportionate response. Other countries intern enemy aliens during war, but Israel is condemned for maintaining check points.
I hope the Press keeps up this policy of showing both sides of the story.
Rodney Brooks, Chairman KBRM
